My name is Jake Irvin and this is where I post the things I enjoy and write what is on my mind. I was born in the Antelope Valley, California, but am currently attending Syracuse University in upstate New York as a film student. If you want to get to know me, feel free to leave me a message! I invited pretty much everyone on my FaceBook who goes to my school and was surprised when my friend Renee arrived with a huge ass SLR camera. She became my professional photographer for the night and I’m really thankful because she took some really awesome pictures.

Hey gals and ghouls! Here it is. My entire performance in one convenient video. This was my first ever solo performance and I think it went pretty well. A few mess-ups, but that’s bound to happen. I’ve never done this before.

I planned on doing a six song set, but was informed musicians are limited to two because Open Mic is usually pretty packed. I managed to get away with three though.

Set list:

Just a little documentation of something I was playing around with earlier today so I don’t forget it. I’m really excited to see where this one goes.

When? Tomorrow (Wed. Oct. 30) Show starts at 8:00 p.m. but I have no idea when my set begins yet.
Where? Funk n’ Waffles
Cost? Free admission, plus cheap and delicious waffles

That is unless the hurricane decides to kill us all tonight. I’ll let you know if it’s canceled due to Armageddon.

I bought a guitar the other day because I couldn’t stand it anymore.Since it’s a used instrument it only cost $65 at Guitar Center, so I got myself a $20 strap. It isn’t anything amazing and it certainly isn’t my Washburn, but it will certainly do for now. I’m not sure what his name is yet… I know it’s a “he,” but it’s difficult because he’s used. I feel like he’s a gentleman, but doesn’t take shit. Modest and has his priorities straight. “Thomas” sounds about right. Any suggestions?
